Everyone wants to experience a new city just like a local. Well now you can, thanks to ex-Google employee turned entrepreneur, Gloria Molins.
Molins, aged 33, was living in Sydney working for Google until she quit her job and followed her passion, travel. After discovering Airbnb in 2010 and thinking it was a brilliant idea – she pondered the thought of doing the same with local experiences. And from there Trip4real began – a startup that aims to connect locals and tourists.
Molins goal: to change the travel experience for others by putting vacationers in touch with people who know a place best. Locals.
Based in Barcelona, the travel company operates in over 70 European cities and provides a platform for hundreds of locals to essentially become their own boss and combine their love of their own city with work.
During a recent interview with Forbes, Molins explained “I believe you only truly know a place when you connect with someone local and that traveling is about people, not just places. If we go back to the beginnings of travel, it was all about discovering, knowledge and a personalized experience.”
A well seasoned traveler herself, Molins knew there was more to a city than just its buildings and cathedrals. It’s the people.
With further expansion in the pipeline, Trip4Real is now setting it’s sites on Latin America allowing travelers from around the world to experience cities in a whole new way.
